What age children do you teach? We have a 21/2 year old class that meets 2 days a week, 3 year olds that meet 2 OR 3 days and 4 year olds that meet 3, 4 OR 5 days a week. Your child must be the correct age by September 30th.

Does my child need to be potty-trained? Yes, for all classes, your child must be potty trained.

Length of School Year? September to May. We basically follow the Henrico county school calendar for school closings in recognition of holidays and snow days.

How many children per classroom? Child/teacher ratio? How many children in whole school? There are 10 children in the 21/2 year old classroom with 2 teachers. For 3 year old classes, there are 12 children with 2 teachers and 4 year old classes have 12-14 children with 2 teachers. Child/Teacher ratio varies from 5:1 to 7:1. There are 70 children in the school.

What other program do you offer my child? Field trips to the pumpkin patch, Teddy Bear Clinic at St. Mary’s hospital and Tuckahoe Library. During preschool hours we offer a music class, library time, and chapel time with Trinity’s Pastors and Children’s program Directors.

My child has a peanut allergy. How does your school handle this concern? We take seriously all allergies concerns and provide the utmost care in keeping your child safe. The Preschool’s Allergy plan is specific in action to prevent any problem or contamination. We limit certain foods in the classroom, practice frequent hand-washing and disinfect the tables regularly. As a law and for your safety, all our teachers are well-trained to administer medication, i.e. epipen, inhaler, liquid meds, etc…based on prior approval at the beginning of the year.

Do you have a playground? We have an awesome two-tiered Noah’s ark playground with a slide, rock climbing wall, tic-tac-toe game, and fort-like area under the second level. We offer a terrific and safe titter-totter, rocking horses, sandbox and playhouse. By the start of 2007-2008 school year, the playground will be 50X28 in size, which is quite big and spacious for playing tags and organized games.

Do you offer a scholarship program to help a family who can’t afford your Preschool? Yes. Proper financial documentation will need to be examined and brought in front of the Preschool Board for approval. Sometimes a partial to full program plan can be worked out with a family.
